OK…THIS IS NOT FUNNY!
Anyone who has followed my posts know that I usually lean toward the humorous side of life. This will not be one of those posts.
The video below is not funny, it is IMPORTANT!
And the scary part? Bath salts, also sold as synthetic marijana, are LEGAL!
This has become a ever-spreading problem hitting children, young adults and people from all walks of life. These drugs are dangerous and are killing our future.
After the Colorado Movie Theater massacre, the mall shootings, and the slaughter of innocent young children in Newtown, Connecticut, people wept and wondered how to protect our children. Well, my answer is GET INVOLVED! Let’s find a way to get these designer drugs out of our stores and out of the hands of our children.
Talk to your local police and government officials to find out how. I’m going to!

they are a problem here in rural maine. so sad. we have to focus on the kids. whether or not something is legal means nothing–kids have to be raised with a reason not to do these things, not to get involved. to me that means more than civic action. it means family action.
I agree that family action is crucial…but civic action is sometimes necessary to raise awareness!
Sorry, I didn’t look at the videos. I just couldn’t. Our county out in the country, has the highest incidence of found meth labs in the state. It’s scary. Our soon-to-be ex- son-in-law is a pot smoker. That’s one of the reasons our daughter is divorcing him (plus alcohol and other women.) His was a case where his no-good dad introduced him to all these things when he was very young.
i can’t watch right now.
Sadly, kids are always going to find the next big thing, when it comes to getting high. Families and teachers need to educate, educate, educate. I still remember paying attention in school when we were spoken to about drugs, and that was 60-odd years ago.
But it’s a fact of human nature that if someone is told they can’t (or shouldn’t) do something, they’ll do it just because they’ve been told not to.
As for me personally, I’ve managed to stay away from pretty much everything along those lines. (I did succumb to the peer pressure that led me to smoking cigarettes, but I was able to kick that habit. But I’ve never tried marijuana or any of the other junk, and have never been tempted to.)
I prefer to get high on Beethoven, on sunsets, on volunteering at the Humane Society, on word games, on exercise. There are a countless number of ways to get exhilarated without putting your mind and body at risk. If this philosophy was taught in schools, and at the family dinner table, coupled with tales of the dangers of designer drugs, we’d be on our way to a safer and saner society.
